Dinnery reveals how long Kamara could be out

According to injury specialist Ben Dinnery, Aston Villa star midfielder Boubacar Kamara could face up to three months out due to the MCL problem he picked up in their last game.

The Midlands side have struggled so far this season as they sit 15th in the table with just two wins from their first seven games. A big reason for this has been down to injuries to crucial players like Diego Carlos, Matty Cash and now, Kamara.

As a result of the injury to Carlos, the club were able to bring in a new defender Jan Bednarek to replace Carlos until he returns, however, they will not be able to do the same with Kamara and therefore will have to rely on the likes of Douglas Luiz and John McGinn.

While it is unknown how much time Kamara will miss as the club and fans await the results of a scan, Dinnery recently suggested it could be as much as three months if the injury is on the worst end of the scale.

Dinnery told the Premier FPL Injuries show: “Boubacar Kamara, his injury setback and knee problem, Steven Gerrard admitted that he is worried by that and we’re waiting for the results of the scan. Again, that looks like an MCL problem.

“Worst end of the scale, we could be talking possibly two, maybe even three months on the sidelines. At best. I think we’re still looking around maybe three to six weeks with that. But we’re waiting for something definitive from the club.”

TIF Thoughts on Kamara’s injury…

Kamara has been a revelation for the club since he arrived for free in the summer and missing him for an extended amount of time could spell disaster for the club with the likes of Leeds United, Chelsea, Brentford and Newcastle United all coming up.

The French midfielder has started every game for the Villains this season and is currently averaging 3.3 tackles, 1.3 clearances, 1.7 dribbles, and three long balls per game in the Premier League. He ranks first among the team in tackles and dribbles as well as fifth for clearances and third for long balls (via WhoScored).

Villa are already in a questionable position with most of their squad intact. Now without Kamara it will certainly put further stress on Steven Gerrard’s job at the club. This is a huge miss for Villa and will have severe consequences if their existing players do not improve dramatically.
