Sunderland Chairman and majority stakeholder Kyril Louis-Dreyfus has sent a message of thanks to the club’s fans on social media.
Louis-Dreyfus became Sunderland chairman at the age of just 23 in February 2021, and has overseen the club make their way back into the Championship after a 2-0 victory in the League One play-off final over Wycombe Wanderers last season.
The club have made an excellent return to life back in the Championship after four years in exile, currently sitting fifth in the league table after ten games, heading into the September international break.
And Louis-Dreyfus sent a message of gratitude to supporters of the club after another positive result at the weekend.
“Thank you for all the support this season!” Louis-Dreyfus posted to his Instagram story.
“We are looking forward to playing at home again after the break!”
We think that it’s a rare thing to see a club chairman/majority stakeholder communicate so openly with the club’s fans, and be so accessible on social media.
We believe that it’s great to see a chairman sending his message of appreciation to the fans, who travel up and down the country with their hard-earned money every weekend to go and back their team.
Therefore, we believe that other Premier League/Championship chairmen should take note and think about ways in which they can express their gratitude to the people who keep the club going.
