Journalist Fabrizio Romano has stated that Frank Lampard feels as though Everton ace Anthony Gordon could be worth a lot more in the future amid current transfer interest.

One of the biggest stories in English football right now is in relation to the Toffees winger and his possible move across the Premier League.

Indeed, Chelsea have reportedly made it clear that they are ready to pay £50m plus £10m in potential add-ons for Gordon, but it seems as though Everton could turn this down.

Indeed, while speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano stated that Lampard is convinced the player will have a bigger value in 6-12 months, which could mean the latest possible bid is also rejected.

He explained: “About Chelsea also, a new bid for Anthony Gordon, top talent from Everton.

“They’re prepared to pay around £60m. Also in this case, add-ons included – difficult add-ons. So the potential fee is around £50m plus difficult add-ons to arrive to [a] potential £60m.

“But at the moment, still no full agreement with Everton. They want more than this, they want to keep the player. Frank Lampard is a big fan of the player.

“He is convinced he could have a bigger value in maybe 6 months or 12 months, and this is why Everton are still not so happy with the Chelsea proposal.”

TIF Thoughts on Anthony Gordon and Everton…

Considering Chelsea seem ready to offer £60m for an attacking player who has scored just four goals in 51 league appearances, it seems crazy to think Everton would turn this bid down.

However, Lampard works with the player every day and seemingly believes that he could be worth even more in the near future. And in theory, if Gordon was to make the World Cup squad for England this winter, remaining with the Toffees could potentially improve his value ahead of a possible January sale.

Even so, Romano later added that Gordon has ‘agreed personal terms’ with Chelsea, so the player could push for a move – with the 21-year-old reportedly telling the club he wants to leave – making it difficult for Everton to hold onto their man regardless of what Lampard thinks about his potential.
