Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has stated that there is still a chance Manchester United land both Antony and Cody Gakpo this summer.

As things stand, it looks as though the Red Devils are about to splash big cash – potentially in the region of £80m – on the Ajax winger, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they will end their hopes of signing the PSV Eindhoven man either.

United have been heavily linked with Gapko in recent times too, with Football Insider claiming that a £25m bid is being prepared for the Dutch international.

Speaking about both deals on the Sky Sports Transfer Show, Sheth explained that his sources have refused to rule out an ‘unlikely’ double swoop for the duo.

He said (5:39): “A lot of United fans will be asking what does that mean for PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo. Well, United are keeping that one bubbling, while the focus is on Antony.

“Signing both players has been described to me as ‘unlikely but not impossible’. No official bid for Gakpo from Manchester United yet.”
