Journalist Josh Bunting has slammed Fashion Sakala after his ‘absolute shocker’ performance for Rangers recently.

In the last 16 of the Scottish League Cup this week, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men secured a comfortable 3-1 win against Queen of the South.

On the occasion, two goals from Scott Arfield helped secure the victory after a debut goal from 18-year-old striker Robbie Ure had given Rangers an early lead.

Despite the routine win, it seems as though not every player for the Gers was at their best. Indeed, Bunting noted that Sakala had a poor outing and made his feelings known online.

Indeed, the journalist wrote on Twitter: “This Fashion Sakala performance is a player who’s not had any minutes, his confidence is shot and this won’t help that he’s having an absolute shocker. It would be best for both parties just to call it a day and sell him on. Just not working out at all.”

TIF thoughts on Fashion Sakala and Rangers…

It seems as though Bunting wasn’t the only one to spot Sakala’s lack of form, with the Scottish Daily Express also critical in their player ratings.

Indeed, journalist Matthew Fulton pointed out that the forward ‘made a shocker of a back-pass’ that led to the equaliser, and also said the 25-year-old had ‘too many touches often when passes or shots were on’.

This was Sakala’s first start of the season. Other than that, he has just a one-minute cameo in the Champions League qualifiers to his name this term. With that in mind, perhaps his future does lie elsewhere, just as Bunting suggests.
