Daily Record writer Mark Guidi has voiced his concern over Reo Hatate’s ability to finish out a game for Celtic.

Back in April, the Japanese star admitted feeling tired, such was the level of intensity he was playing with for club and country.

He told Japanese outlet Sportiva (via Daily Record) that on his first day back from international duty he was seeing two balls in training due to jetlag and that he has to recognise his tiredness while playing in order to help the balance of the team.

It was another workman-like performance from the 24-year-old against Aberdeen on Sunday as he made one tackle, one interception and won four of his six duels in the middle of the pitch (as per SofaScore).

He also played three key passes going forward and had 70 touches, but was ultimately hooked on 66 minutes by Ange Postecoglou, and Guidi wonders if that is an area that the Australian manager is looking to improve in the midfielder’s game.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, he said: “The other thing that maybe concerned me again, Hatate – really good, brilliant, but he seemed to kind of lose his energy again.

“He put so much into the first 55, 60 minutes – Kyogo as well, and I know they’ve got Giakoumakis to come on – but I think that’s something that the manager would be thinking about as well; how do they preserve the energy levels a wee bit more?

“Unless he’s just told, ‘look, you just go batter it for an hour, then you’re coming off’, I’m not sure.”

The January arrival became an instant hit at Parkhead as he netted a brace in a crunch Old Firm Derby that ultimately flipped the title race in favour of the Hoops.

Ange may therefore be looking to keep him on the pitch at all times, but he has only played 90 minutes or more in just four of his 22 appearances for the club to date.

Furthermore, he has also made it past the 70-minute mark on just five other occasions and his fitness will be something that Bhoys supporters will surely be hoping gets back up to full speed given the demands of Champions League football that the team will have to endure this season on top of their domestic duties.

Utter rubbish !! First game if the season Hatate was injured and replaced no big drama so why make one about it.He admitted he was struggling at the end of last season and why not he had just played a full season in Japan then straight of the plane and thrown right into our remaining games. He will be one of the first names in the team sheet at Celtic every week
