Celtic’s Swiss striker Albian Ajeti does not fit into Ange Postecoglou’s system at Parkhead.

That is according to Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports, who was speaking to GiveMeSport about the latest news regarding the Scottish champions with the final few weeks of the transfer window upon us.

Postecoglou has brought in over 20 players to Celtic since his arrival at the club in June 2021, with the Australian manager seeing a large overhaul of players during his tenure.

This method has been successful for the former Australia boss, having secured a Scottish Premiership and League Cup double last season.

But Joseph believes Postecoglou is putting his own mark on the team, and players like Ajeti may not fit into his system.

He said: “We’ve already seen that he can score goals when he does play, so he had a few chances in pre-season.

“If he can burst onto the scene at the start of the season, show that he can adapt to Ange’s style of football, because I think perhaps him and [James] McCarthy are the only two players in the first-team squad that don’t seem like they fit into the system.”

TIF Thoughts on Joseph’s comments…

We believe that if Ajeti is unlikely to play frequently under Postecoglou, it would be in the best interests of all parties for club and player to part ways.

The 25-year-old has already found chances in the side hard to come by, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 17 appearances (totalling just 552 minutes) last season, according to Transfermarkt.

Therefore, we believe that Celtic should be cutting their losses on the £4.5m signing and be moving onto a future where Postecoglou’s squad only contains players he thinks will fit his system.
