Celtic podcaster Ryan McGinlay has heaped praise on defender Greg Taylor during Ange Postecoglou‘s side’s game against Kilmarnock.

The Scottish champions eased into a 3-0 half-time lead, courtesy of goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, Jota, and Mortitz Jenz’s second goal in as many games. Yet, it wasn’t any of the goal scorers that McGinlay was keen to single out, instead praising Taylor.

The praise is justified, too. Taylor has been part of a Celtic side that has so far had the perfect start to the season, with two wins from two, and, as of the time of writing, a dominant half against Kilmarnock. Their start to the season could go a long way to determining whether of not they retain their Scottish Premiership crown this season.

TIF Thoughts on Taylor…

Last season, Taylor made just 19 appearances in the Scottish Premiership, in what was a campaign full of a back and forth battle for his starting place. That seems to have changed this summer, however, with Taylor now seemingly the man to turn to in Celtic’s backline.

Of course, there’s still a long way to go until the season reaches boiling point, but Celtic and their currently starring defender have certainly got off to an ideal start. The aim will be to get to the halfway stage of the season in control of the title race.

From Taylor’s perspective, however, he will simply hope to maintain his good form, and, therefore, keep his starting place at Celtic Park throughout the entirety of the campaign.

He managed an impressive 19 duels won and had 119 touches, which just shows how much he influenced the game.
