Talking Wolves presenter Dave Azzopardi has accepted that Wolves will likely miss out on Andrea Belotti this summer.

At this moment in time, the Italian forward is without a club having seen his contract with Torino expire in the summer. Naturally, this has led to some interest from certain clubs.

Wolves were supposedly one of those sides, and according to Calciomercato, the 28-year-old has declined the opportunity to join Bruno Lage’s men in the hope of playing for Roma instead.

While talking about the situation on Monday’s edition of the Talking Wolves podcast, Azzopardi said that he feels as though this now means any chance of signing Belotti is gone amid his apparent snub.

He said: “It was said in Italy that Wolves had offered him a contract – a very decent contract – and he’d rejected it; he was holding out for Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

“In Italy today, or over the weekend, they’ve said that apparently, Wolves gave Andrea Belotti another nudge and basically said, ‘look, the offer’s still there. Do you want to join?’

“And apparently he said no again and he’s waiting for Roma. So I think that puts the end to anything to do with Andrea Belotti.”
