TalkSport’s Alex Crook has stated that Wolves fans should be wary of the possibility that star man Pedro Neto could leave, as his agent Jorge Mendes is shopping the young forward.

Some of the big early rumours surrounding a Wolves departure this summer concerned Ruben Neves, who previously garnered interest from multiple Premier League clubs, as well as Barcelona, but it now looks as if he will stay.

However, another star has recently entered the rumour mill in Neto, who according to Crook, has been touted to Premier League giants, with the reporter naming Manchester United as a possible destination for the forward if he was to leave.

Crook told TalkSport: “Wolves fans maybe should be more concerned about Pedro Neto, because I know that his agent, a certain Jorge Mendes, has been touting him around some of the bigger clubs in the Premier League. I think if anybody is to leave Molineux this window, it might well be him. And guess what? He’s on Manchester United’s list as well.”

TIF Thoughts on a Neto transfer…

Considering Wolves’ thin attacking options, it would be a huge disaster if they were to lose a player of Neto’s capabilities. The youngster has been tipped for a bright future and was even labelled as ‘a huge talent’ by Premier League legend Alan Shearer.

So far this season, Neto has started both games for the Old Gold, and while he hasn’t picked up a goal or assist yet, he currently ranks in the 88th percentile for progressive carries and progressive passes received, as well as in the 86th for touches in the attacking penalty area compared to players in his position over the past year, according to FBref.

It is currently unknown how much the club would be able to get for the starlet, but considering the limited time left in the transfer window and the fragility of their attacking options, selling an asset like Neto would surely be a horrendous decision.
