Wolves forward Pedro Neto could now be a player that leaves Molineux in the coming weeks of this summer’s window.
This has been suggested by insider Dean Jones, who has been discussing the future of the Portuguese star on the latest episode of The Done Deal Show.
Bruno Lage has recently seen his attacking options added to with the addition of Goncalo Guedes in a deal believed to be worth in the region of £27.5m.
But Jones now believes the Wolves manager could lose one of his main attacking options, with Neto a potential departure having now returned to fitness following his knee injury.
And the insider insists his landing spot could be a Premier League side, with Arsenal thought to be holding a serious interest in the 22-year-old.
He said: “If they [Arsenal] decide to stay in the Premier League [for signings], then Neto is definitely one of the ones that has started to be talked about a bit more and it’s starting to sound like he might actually leave in this window.
“All the noise around Wolves has always been Traore or Moutinho or Neves – now it’s Conor Coady too, he’s on his way. But Pedro Neto, one to watch out for at the moment, and I think Arsenal do have half an eye on him.”
TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…
This will surely come as a huge worry to Wolves fans, who have already been hit with the latest injury sustained to main striker Raul Jimenez.
Do you think Neto will leave this summer?
Yes
No
Neto has had a torrid time of late with the big injury setback ruining his 2021/22 campaign, which saw him provide just one goal and one assist in 13 league appearances (via Transfermarkt).
However, Neto’s absence – alongside an out-of-form Jimenez – was definitely felt last season, with Wolves ending the campaign having scored just 38 goals in the Premier League.
And if they are to lose Neto – hailed a “huge talent” by Alan Shearer – in the coming weeks and remain without Jimenez for a couple of months through injury, it could make for a really worrying start to the season for Lage’s men.
