Journalist Ryan Taylor has claimed that Goncalo Ramos is someone who is admired by Wolves.
Wolves struggled in front of goal last season, as their top scorer was Raul Jimenez with just six goals in the Premier League and they had the worst record out of all the sides that remained in the top flight, netting just 38 times.
Jimenez has picked up an injury in pre-season, meaning that Hwang Hee-chan led the line for Wolves in the opening fixture of this season, while 19-year-old Chem Campbell came on for the final 15 minutes of the match to replace the South Korean.
Wolves have been linked with a move for Goncalo Ramos, who is also on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain, and when speaking to GiveMeSport, Taylor claimed that he is indeed somebody who is admired by those at Molineux.
He said: “PSG were looking at him as well, but we know Wolves need to sign a striker, so let’s wait and see what happens. He’s definitely one that’s admired.”
Do you think Jimenez needs to be replaced?
TIF Thoughts on Taylor’s comments…
Wolves are evidently short in attack after Campbell was given first-team minutes against Leeds United, but they might struggle to lure Ramos to the club before the transfer window ends ahead of French giants PSG, who also circling for his signature.
However, he would almost certainly have a greater chance of gaining regular game time with the Premier League outfit due to PSG’s already dangerous attack, so it could be a good chance for the Portuguese forward to prove what he can do on the grand stage of English football.
Ramos featured 29 times in Liga Portugal last season for Benfica, where he scored seven times, and he started the season well this term for the Portuguese club after assisting twice in their opening game, and at just 21 years old, we believe he would be a good option to replace Jimenez in the long run for Wolves.
