Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Raul Jimenez has been injured but he has taken to Instagram to send a message on how he is doing.

Jimenez picked up an injury in July and he is set to be side lined for a number of weeks, although the severity of the injury has not been confirmed and it is not clear on when his return date will be.

The Mexican was Wolves’ top goal scorer last season in the Premier League, but he only found the back of the net six times in the top flight, and Wolves scored the least amount of goals out of all the sides that remained in the division.

On Saturday, Wolves had their first game of the 2022/23 league season, where Hwang Hee-chan led the line for Bruno Lage’s side, but he failed to have an impact as Leeds won the game 2-1.

Despite Jimenez currently being sidelined due to injury, Jimenez took to Instagram to update the Wolves faithful on how he is doing, writing: “Getting fit and ready to be back stronger.”

TIF Thoughts on Jimenez…

There have been question marks over Jimenez since his return from the horrific head injury that he endured, because last season he found the back of the net just six times in 33 Premier League games, whereas in the 2019/20 campaign he scored 17 goals in 38 games.

Wolves have been linked with Goncalo Ramos, who could potentially be a replacement for Jimenez if he does not hit any goalscoring form when he is back playing, so it will be interesting to see how he fares upon his return.

His Instagram post is promising because it is a signal that he is back in training, but there may still be doubters might among the Wolves faithful as to whether he will return to his old goalscoring ways, or if they will feel like they need a new striker.
