Insider ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham United could look to make a surprise move for centre-back Victor Lindelof.

It’s certainly no secret that the Hammers are looking to improve that part of the pitch at the moment with another signing before the window slams shut on 1st September.

However, in a recent development, it has emerged that the Manchester United man is seen as an option for David Moyes and co, which will come as news to many.

Indeed, according to Ex, West Ham have had their eye on Eric Bailly of late, but could end up making a surprise move for teammate Lindelof instead.

In a post to The West Ham Way Patreon page, Ex revealed that the Sweden international has come up in discussions as they sought a potential deal for Bailly.

He wrote: “Most other media outlets are reporting the interest in the two players we revealed on Friday, and they are Kehrer of PSG and Bailly of Manchester United.

“Interestingly, whilst having these discussions with these clubs, alternative options emerged from both with Abdou Diallo of PSG and Victor Lindelof of Manchester United names coming up as alternative options, although Kehrer is the main focus for now.

“Both Diallo and Lindelof have a number of clubs in for them, mainly from Italy, however.”

TIF Thoughts on Victor Lindelof and West Ham…

As Ex mentions, Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Thilo Kehrer certainly looks to be a priority target for West Ham at this moment of time, while Bailly is also an option.

However, it seems as though Lindelof is now a potential target, too. The Swede has plenty of Premier League experience, having joined United from Benifca back in 2017, but has often faced criticism for his performances.

In fact, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie told Football Insider last season: “[Harry] Maguire and Lindelof? Do me a favour, I’m 62 and I could play against them.”

With all that in mind, it’s a bit of a shock to hear Lindelof’s name emerge. But for now, this looks like one to at least keep an eye out for.
