Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that Seko Fofana has emerged as a possible transfer target for West Ham United.

With just a few weeks left now before the summer market slams shut, plenty of supporters will be desperate to know who their club will be chasing in the remaining time before the deadline on 1st September.

The Hammers have been linked with a whole raft of names throughout the summer, but it seems as though they could be pursuing a Lens midfielder now.

Indeed, while discussing transfers on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex said that Fofana is a target, although his side aren’t that keen to sell their star man.

He explained: “There’s also potentially a guy from Lens, although they’re not keen to sell him because they’ve already expressed that.

“But it’s Seko Fofana, who has emerged as a potential target as well. Although that one I think is lower down on the list.”

TIF Thoughts on Seko Fofana and West Ham…

At 27 years of age, Fofana currently wears the captain’s armband for Lens and played 41 games, scoring ten goals, in all competitions last season.

This shows just how important the midfielder is for the Ligue 1 outfit and goes some way to explaining why they won’t be keen to sell him.

Of course, though, with the spending power Premier League clubs like West Ham have, should David Moyes and co really want to bring Fofana to east London, they may well be able to tempt Lens into selling.

However, according to L’Équipe (via GFFN), the French club were demanding a €35m (£29m) fee when Paris Saint-Germain were interested earlier on in the summer – so he could actually cost more than the Hammers are willing to pay.
