Insider ExWHUemployee has confirmed that West Ham United have an interest in signing Borna Sosa this summer.

According to reports from Croatian news outlet Index,  the left-back is said to be is closing in on a big €20m (£17m) move to the Hammers – despite interest from other Premier League clubs.

In a post uploaded to The West Ham Way Patreon page, Ex was able to state that there is an ‘interest’ in Sosa. However, he did also explain that those talks are not quite ‘as far down the line’ as some reports suggest.

The insider explained: “We are still also after a left-back. I have identified targets in a number of updates, and reports in Croatia suggested that we are in for a previously mentioned target Borna Sosa for around £17m.

“I can confirm we do have an interest in the player, however, a lot of clubs have an interest, and talks are not as far down the line yet as being suggested.”

TIF Thoughts on Borna Sosa and West Ham…

With both Manchester City and Newcastle United also linked with the player this summer, Sosa must be doing pretty well with Stuttgart over in Germany.

To be fair, with 23 assists in 83 games, it’s easy to see why he has caught the eye. Those stats could bode well for the player as West Ham were previously looking at the similarly attack-minded Filip Kostic in recent times.

And so, if that’s the profile of left-sided player David Moyes is after, Sosa may well fit the bill. And with this possible interest now confirmed, it looks like this deal could be one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks – even if it isn’t particularly close to completion just yet.
