Insider ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham United could be tempted into making a move for Ismaila Sarr after he recently scored a stunning goal.

Throughout the summer, the Senegalese winger has been linked with a possible transfer – with Ex reporting in the past that the Hammers see him as a target.

If there were any doubts about the player’s quality, those may well have been put to bed on Monday night during Watford’s clash with West Brom. Indeed, Sarr plucked the ball from the sky with an immaculate first touch before launching an effort into the back of the net from inside his own half.

Having seen the highlight, Ex suggested this could be a tipping point in West Ham’s pursuit of the player.

He said on The West Ham Way Patreon: “Ismaila Sarr has scored a wondergoal for Watford, and with us looking for attacking options, having expressed an interest in the club, I wonder if this could prompt a move for him.”

While the goal certainly displayed Sarr at his very best, he did also go on to miss a second-half penalty which ultimately meant Watford had to settle for a draw.

Perhaps that sort of inconsistency is why West Ham have failed to make a move for the winger just yet, with him remaining a Championship player at this late stage of the summer.

Even so, Sarr, who has been called a ‘freak’, has proven he has the ability to do it in the Premier League, scoring five goals and providing two assists despite an injury-disrupted season last term playing for a struggling side.
