Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that David Moyes will have to make a key decision on whether or not to sell West Ham United defender Issa Diop.

At one stage this summer, it looked as though the centre-back would certainly be leaving the club, with Lyon reported to be ‘on the brink‘ of sorting a transfer by the insider himself.

That deal has yet to be completed, while Premier League rivals Fulham have also been said to be in the frame for a possible switch.

However, following some recent injury concerns to Nayef Aguerd, Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson, manager Moyes is seemingly uncertain on making a sale. And with his future in limbo, Diop is supposedly ‘not happy’.

In an update on The West Ham Way Patreon page, Ex explained: “David Moyes faces a dilemma as to what to do with Issa Diop.

“The defender has made it clear he is not happy with his career in balance like it is, and with Fulham raising their offer, the club will need to decide whether to keep him at the club due to injuries to Aguerd and fitness concerns with Ogbonna and risk him being an unhappy player, or move the player on and bring someone else in.”

TIF Thoughts on Issa Diop and West Ham…

New signing Aguerd could be out for as much as 12 weeks having recently suffered a bad ankle injury. This news had led to talk that West Ham could possibly go into the transfer market for a new central defensive signing.

However, with the start of the new season just around the corner, it’s not hard to see why Moyes might prefer to keep Diop at the club.

Still, as Ex makes clear, the player does not like his career being left in the balance in such a way, so the West Ham manager may have to sell the 25-year-old in order to maintain a happy dressing room.
