Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that West Ham United feel that Ben Brereton Diaz can offer some value to the club this summer.
West Ham have made five additions to the club this summer, with the most recent signing being striker Gianluca Scamacca, although Michail Antonio was given the nod on Sunday when the Hammers lost 2-0 in their Premier League opener.
Meanwhile, Brereton Diaz has also been linked with a move to West Ham, after he had an impressive campaign last term when he found the back of the net 22 times in 37 Championship games, and this season he has scored one goal in the opening two games.
Although Diaz has been linked with a move to West Ham this summer, Jones spoke to GiveMeSport and highlighted that the player is interested in signing for Sevilla – but the Hammers aren’t giving up on him just yet.
He said: “I think Brereton Diaz is the one to probably look out for. They still feel that he’s offering some value.
“I know that there’s interest abroad, though, for him, and he’s interested in Sevilla. So, Brereton Diaz has got decisions to make himself at the moment, but West Ham are not totally ruling that idea out.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…
The Hammers had just one natural striker in their squad before Scamacca was added by David Moyes, but they might be keen to add another forward to the frontline to provide extra depth in case one of their current front two gets injured.
Brereton Diaz has entered the final 12 months of his current contract at Blackburn Rovers, so the Championship side might be keen to either cash in on him or tie him down to a new deal, while the Hammers may be able to swoop in and sign him for a cheaper price.
However, if Brereton Diaz was to sign for West Ham, he might have to deal with the possibility that he might not be the first-choice option and will have to fight for his place, which could be off-putting for him, as he will most likely want to be playing regular football.
