West Ham United manager David Moyes may not want to sign Emmanuel Dennis this summer as he’s “not necessarily the type of character” the Scotsman wants in the dressing room.
That is according to TalkSport reporter Alex Crook, who was speaking to GiveMeSport about the Irons’ potential transfer plans heading into the final few weeks of the transfer window.
Moyes has welcomed five permanent signings to the London Stadium so far this summer, including the acquisition of £35.5m striker Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo.
West Ham had been linked with a move for Watford’s Dennis after the Hornets’ relegation from the Premier League last season, with Nottingham Forest also interested in a swoop for the striker.
And Crook believes that Moyes will have moved on from interest in the Nigerian, especially considering the aforementioned signing of Scamacca.
He said: “Now they’ve got Scamacca, I wonder if they’ve done some background checks on him because, from what I’m told, maybe he’s not necessarily the type of character that David Moyes wants to bring into the dressing room.”

We believe that Moyes should be doing everything possible to keep the squad harmonious at the London Stadium this season, with the manager needing to find a way to balance domestic and Europa Conference League football.
Indeed, players’ personalities is thought to be a key part of their recruitment policy, so this claim from Crook does make sense.
The 24-year-old, who was praised as being “very talented” by former Watford manager Claudio Ranieri, scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 35 appearances for the Hornets last season according to Transfermarkt, suggesting that he was a regular provider of goals, even in a struggling team.
However, despite his impressive stats, we believe that if Moyes is not sold on the striker this summer, GSB should back the manager and move on to other targets.
