Micah Richards has been speaking on Match of the Day 2 about Harry Kane’s latest display for Tottenham Hotspur.

It was a very tough afternoon for Spurs at the City Ground, but they did manage to score two goals and keep a second successive clean sheet under Antonio Conte, while maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.

They certainly didn’t have everything their all way, however, with Kane missing a penalty and Nottingham Forest managing to get off 17 shots at the other end, although only one of them managed to test Hugo Lloris.

Richards spoke about Kane’s actions prior to the second goal which sealed all three points.

“The thing about Spurs, now they’ve got so much quality within it. He’s [Kane] looking to get square here, I don’t know if he’s hit his head or he’s just angry… yeah, he’s very angry.”

Will Spurs finish in the top four?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“Harry Kane is just something else. It wasn’t his best game today by any means, but inside the box, he just makes a difference, that killer instinct.”

TIF Thoughts on Kane…

While Richards claims that Kane didn’t have the best of games against Forest, he almost grabbed a hat-trick and racked up the highest WhoScored rating of any Spurs player on the pitch, although his regular influence on the game was a bit down given he managed just 56 touches.

How well do you know where these Spurs signings came from? Take our quiz to find out! Firstly, where did Dimitar Berbatov arrive from?

It does seem like yesterday he was tasked with playing as more of a centre-forward instead of dropping deep and pinging balls in behind Forest as he’s done numerous times to other teams. As his heat map shows, he was very much taking up a spot in the box regularly.

If Kane performs below his best and manages to score two goals a game while handing Spurs all three points, we think that would be more than good enough for the striker and manager Conte come the end of the season.
