Tottenham Hotspur are now in talks with Serie A side Napoli over a potential deal to offload Tanguy Ndombele in this summer’s window.

Alasdair Gold, who was speaking on his YouTube channel, has claimed Spurs are now prepared to see the French midfielder depart on loan with just a matter of weeks remaining in the market.

The Frenchman has been linked with a number of moves away this summer, including a possible switch to Villarreal along with Giovani Lo Celso.

However, it now seems as if the 25-year-old may now be heading to Italy, with talks ongoing over a deal which is believed to have the option to become permanent for €30m (£25.2m):

Gold said: “Napoli in talks with Spurs. It was still early stuff at the moment, he was still training today [Monday] at Hotspur Way – albeit on his own.

“Spurs trying to get some kind of option on that deal for Napoli to buy him permanently at some point – you’d think with some kind of objectives that would make it happen if he meets certain criteria.

“But yeah, you look at those two players, Tanguy and Gio [Lo Celso], you’re looking at more than £100m spent on the two of them and Spurs are so desperate to get them out the door and they’re both likely to head out on loan.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

As Tottenham’s record signing, there will be an obvious disappointment over Ndombele not working out as a Spurs player who Antonio Conte has never really put any trust in.

Do you think Ndombele deserved another chance?

But it is apparent the 25-year-old has no place in this squad having missed out on the pre-season tour of South Korea and continues to train away from the squad.

Having already gone out on loan last season, there will be hope the potential move to Italy will be a success as Spurs will be hoping to avoid this situation recurring this time next year.
