Journalist Graeme Bailey has said that Tottenham Hotspur would be pulling off a great deal if they can offload both Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.

In a recent report from the insider on 90min, it was stated that Villarreal are locked in talks with Spurs over the possibility of a move for both players.

It explains that after Lo Celso impressed on loan in Spain last season, they are keen to make his switch permanent, while Ndombele is also being explored as an option.

While speaking about the update on the Talking Transfers podcast, Bailey stated that Tottenham could be in for ‘some good news’ if they can move both men on this summer.

With co-host Sean Walsh bemoaning the fact the duo are still on Spurs’ books, Bailey claimed the links between the pair and Villarreal would represent a fine deal for the selling club.

Walsh said: “There’s a lot of positive noises around the club. I don’t think there’s much negativity. I think the real negativity has been that we haven’t been able to shift the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso yet, who have kind of been banished from the first team.”

He said: “There might be some good news on that front – Villarreal are talking apparently about Lo Celso and Ndombele. That’d be some deal, wouldn’t it?”

TIF Thoughts on Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso and Spurs…

As mentioned above, Lo Celso spent last season with Villarreal, where he caught the eye with some fine displays – most notably in the Champions League against Bayern Munich, as he helped the Spanish side reach the semi-finals.

Ndombele was also out on loan, but didn’t quite impress in the same way with Lyon, as his former club decided against making his move a permanent one

And with the duo left out of Spurs’ pre-season plans, it suggests that they would much rather sell the pair than keep hold of them any longer. With that in mind, we agree that it would be a great deal for the club if they can offload both in one swoop.

It’s a terrible shame regarding Ndombele, he seemed to go downhill straight after we got rid of Sissoko. I know that upset him but does he really want to throw away his whole career because of that?
