Tottenham Hotspur are now preparing to offer Harry Kane a new and improved deal to extend his stay in north London.
This has been suggested by Fabrizio Romano, who has been discussing Spurs’ plans for the remainder of the summer on his latest Here We Go podcast.
It has been a quiet summer for the England captain compared to the turbulent time of transfer speculation this time last year, when he was pushing for a move to Manchester City.
However, it is believed Kane is now settled at Spurs and loving life under Antonio Conte, with the Lilywhites qualified for the Champions League and already having made a bright start in the Premier League.
And with just a matter of days remaining in this summer’s transfer window, Romano now believes attentions will quickly turn to tying Kane’s future down in N17
He said: “I want to add about Antonio Conte’s words about Harry Kane contract because we are entering into details of this story in September, not now.
“But Conte said we want Harry Kane to stay here, to sign a new deal. And Tottenham are working on it since long time. They are preparing a new contract proposal. Kane is really happy at Tottenham, and so keep an eye on this new deal story, because the feeling between Kane and Tottenham is fantastic, really, right now.”

This will be music to the ears of those at Spurs with Kane having made a brilliant start to the new campaign with four goals in the opening four games.

But with just two years now left on his deal, there may be some concerns as to whether his long-term future remains in N17.
However, the options do seem to have narrowed massively for Kane over the past few months with City bringing in Erling Haaland to shut the door on a potential move to the Etihad Stadium.
There is no sign of Kane slowing down despite edging closer to the age of 30. It took the England captain until midway through December to score his second league goal last season (via Transfermarkt).
Now just four games into the season, Kane has doubled that tally, and with Alan Shearer’s record closing in, he may now look to confirm his future in N17 for the foreseeable future.
