Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is delighted with the club’s transfer business so far this summer, with the Lilywhites still in the market for players.

That is according to Dean Jones, who was speaking to This is Futbol about Spurs’ potential transfer business for the remainder of the window.

Conte has welcomed six new faces to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, and the plan is to add more players to the squad.

The former Chelsea manager had been promised six new signings by the Tottenham board at the start of the summer transfer window, but it now seems that the club could bring in even more additions this summer.

And Jones believes that the club had not originally intended to be in the market for players at this stage of proceedings, but he now suggests that there may have been a change in approach.

He said: “It’s literally gone to plan so far for Spurs in terms of the transfer window. They made the strong start to it, they got the six spots filled that they needed.

“Conte is delighted about how they managed to do that, and they’re not finished. They’re going to go back in, but they never planned to be in the market right now.

“It was always, ‘let’s go back in and we’ll start the season, and then we’ll see on the back of the first two weeks what we actually need’.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

We believe that Spurs fans will be delighted to hear that the club are still looking at new signings this summer, suggesting that Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici are trying to provide Conte with all the tools necessary to compete domestically and in Europe this season.

We think that Tottenham sound like a club going in the right direction with a top-class manager, and with the right backing, they could potentially push Manchester City and Liverpool all the way for a title in the near future.
