Ally McCoist believes Tottenham Hotspur’s front three could be the best in the Premier League right now.

Spurs soared to the top of the Premier League table with a convincing 4-1 win on Saturday.

Ryan Sessegnon brought Spurs level after James Ward-Prowse had put visitors Southampton in front.

Eric Dier ensured Antonio Conte’s side were ahead at the break and a quickfire double in the second period which included Dejan Kulusevski netting a sublime fourth put the gloss on a fine opening day win for the Lilywhites.

Kulusevski also grabbed an assist, while Son Heung-min was the provider for Dier’s goal. And even though Harry Kane wasn’t directly involved in a strike, which was a surprise in itself, McCoist believes Conte may just have the best forward line in the division.

Speaking on TalkSport: he said: “You look at Kulusevski, Son and Harry Kane, and they’re arguably the best front three in the country. I mean, they really are. They are fantastic.

“I’ll stand by what I’ve said, they might be the best three in the league, because they might be better than Haaland, Foden and Grealish.

“I mean, Kulusevski, Son and Kane – brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I mean, of course the City front three is tremendous, so is the Liverpool front three.”

TIF Thoughts on Spurs…

Is this Tottenham's best ever window?

While the established tandem of Kane and Son hold the record for most goal combinations in Premier League history, adding Kulusevski to the mix has proved a masterstroke from Conte.

The sparkling Swede has scored six goals and assisted another nine in just 19 top-flight appearances, averaging a goal involvement every 90.2 minutes.

On Saturday, he was the star man with an 8.4 SofaScore rating, creating one big chance on top of his goal and assist, as well as playing three key passes, having 60 touches and completing 92% of his passes.

At just 22, he has proved to be an exciting addition to Spurs’ ranks and if his form continues, McCoist has a serious case for claiming the club boast the league’s best attacking trio.
