Journalist Alasdair Gold has predicted that Antonio Conte will sign a new contract extension with Tottenham Hotspur.

As things stand, the club manager will see his current contract expire next summer in June 2023 if he doesn’t agree on any new terms with Daniel Levy.

No doubt, this will have plenty of supporters nervous, especially considering the job the Italian has done so far in north London, guiding Tottenham to a top-four finish last season.

However, in what will likely come as music to many fans’ ears, Gold has said that he would be shocked if the manager fails to agree upon a contract extension in the near future.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he explained: “Obviously, we know there’s the option for both him and Spurs to agree to continue, to chuck another year on his contract.

“Which I’d be stunned if that doesn’t happen because I think Spurs will want it at this stage. Also to kind of stop any questions as this season goes on about him. But also for Conte, it’s a little bit more financial security.”

Will Antonio Conte agree to stay at Spurs beyond 2023?

TIF thoughts on Antonio Conte and Tottenham Hotspur…

Conte is a proven winner having won numerous trophies across the span of his managerial career – including an FA Cup and a Premier League during his time with Chelsea in England.

With that in mind, it would certainly make a lot of sense for Spurs to try and keep hold of him a little longer, especially when you take into account their trophy drought over the past 14 years or so.

Speaking to football.london over the summer, the Italian seemed open to the idea of staying with Tottenham beyond his current deal. And following this claim from respected journalist Gold, it certainly looks as though all signs point toward that extension being agreed upon at some stage this season.
