Presenter and YouTuber Conor McGilligan has claimed that Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl looked ‘completely stressed’ throughout the Saints’ match this weekend.

In the latest round of Premier League fixtures, the Saints managed to fight back and eventually claim a 2-2 draw.

Indeed, having fallen behind to Leeds United thanks to a Rodrigo brace, Southampton struck twice through Joe Aribo and Kyle Walker-Peters to salvage a point.

Despite managing to rescue a result, McGilligan said that he could not believe how bad the Saints were and that Hasenhuttl looked ‘stressed from minute one’.

Talking on the One Leeds Fan Channel, the presenter said: “For me, they’re bottom-three. I couldn’t believe how bad they were.

“Hasenhuttl looked completely stressed from minute one. I didn’t understand what they were doing. There wasn’t really any top performances from them in the first 60, 65 minutes.

“I thought Leeds were, not in control, because that means we’re dictating every ember of the game, but I thought Leeds were comfortable.”

TIF Thoughts on Ralph Hasenhuttl and Southampton…

The Saints have started the new season with just one point from their opening two fixtures, having been hammered 4-1 away from home by Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

And considering they were pretty fortunate to get anything from the game against Leeds – having been outplayed for the opening hour or so (in the eyes of McGilligan, at least) – they certainly haven’t made a great start to the new campaign.

In fact, had they lost that match, stretching back into last season, the Saints would have suffered a record-equalling sixth consecutive Premier League defeat, while Hasenhuttl would have been able to hear chants of  ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ from the away supporters (via The Athletic).

With that in mind, it’s no shock to hear that the manager looked stressed, and it looks as though he could be desired for an exit unless he can turn things around soon.
