Ciaran Kelly has claimed on Chronicle Live that Newcastle United may find it tough to bring in Christian Pulisic.

It has been reported that Newcastle are indeed interested in a quartet of Chelsea players including Callum Hudson-Odoi, Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher and Pulisic and it appears that the latter is the most admired on Tyneside.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano who’s recently claimed that Pulisic is very much liked by Eddie Howe who’d be able to add some goal-scoring prowess to the Magpies’ lineup if he was to arrive on Tyneside.

However, given his pedigree within the game, Kelly believes it could be a tough game for Newcastle to pull off this summer.

“I think Pulisic might be a tough one for Newcastle to get. I think the interest in him is going to be immense, but what is in their favour is they’ve got that relationship with Chelsea, both sets of owners get on very well and Newcastle aren’t yet seen as a top-six rival, even though I think the Chelsea chairman said it will be a top seven with Newcastle.

Should Newcastle sign Pulisic on loan?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“I think that will work in their favour, whereas if Manchester United go in for Pulisic, I think Chelsea might be more reluctant to do business with them, even though it doesn’t seem Man United are rivals at the moment.”

TIF Thoughts on interest in Pulisic…

It’s safe to say that this won’t be a straightforward deal for Newcastle to complete given the number of clubs that are interested in Pulisic but also that a lot of those clubs can offer him some form of European football, which may appeal to him even if it meant leaving the premier league.

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

However, something that Pulisic could very much likely be guaranteed at Newcastle is a starting role as his attacking numbers outshine the likes of Jacob Murphy, Ryan Fraser and Miguel Almiron quite considerably, so he wouldn’t have too much competition and also wouldn’t have to leave the country and relocate too drastically.
