Leeds United are working to find new players to identify as transfer targets ahead of September’s transfer deadline.

That is according to Dean Jones, who was speaking to This is Futbol about the club’s potential transfer business, during the remaining few weeks of the transfer window.

Leeds have had a busy summer in terms of both arrivals and departures, with Jesse Marsch welcoming seven new faces to the club, whilst significant players such as Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha have left the club.

The club have been linked with additions such as Southampton and Scotland striker Ché Adams, whilst Blackburn Rovers and Chile striker Ben Brereton Diaz has also been touted as someone who could make a move to Elland Road this summer.

And Jones believes that the club could also be looking to identify other targets this summer, in a bid to add more faces to Marsch’s squad.

“I know that something they’re working really hard on at the moment is finding new target options.

“So there might yet be new names that emerge in this sense.

“Obviously, they’re still looking in other areas too, Leeds, but they’ve had a good start to the season. They feel that the club is very sellable.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

We believe that it would be sensible for Leeds to have alternative options to both Adams and Brereton Diaz, with Everton now joining the race for the former, whilst it’s clear that Blackburn will want a decent fee for the Chile international.

There’s a good chance that Victor Orta and Marsch may continue to look towards the German and Austrian market, with the American manager knowing that field well, following previous spells in charge of RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig.

Therefore, we believe that Leeds fans will be satisfied to hear that the club are looking to broaden their horizons in terms of targets, but will be hoping to see players through the door, rather than just rumours.
