Leeds United’s hierarchy may have had “discussions” over the prospect of the club signing a new striker this summer.
That is according to journalist Pete O’Rourke, who was speaking to This is Futbol about the club’s potential transfer business during the final days of the window.
According to Jeunesfooteux, Leeds are interested in signing Juventus striker Moise Kean in a potential £17m move, although Newcastle United are also thought to be interested in the Italian striker.
The Whites have been linked with a move for a forward throughout the summer, with Jesse Marsch’s only senior out-and-out number nine being Patrick Bamford, who has recently been out following an adductor injury.
And O’Rourke believes that discussions will have been had within the Leeds hierarchy over the club signing a striker this summer, amid the links with Kean.
O’Rourke said: “He’s a player [Kean] that’s obviously on the market and Leeds do need a striker.
“So I’m sure there has been discussions, maybe between the Leeds hierarchy to see who they can get to come up front.
“Especially with all the injury problems that Patrick Bamford had last season and now he’s sidelined again for a while, so they’ll be desperate to bring in a striker before the close of the window.”

We believe that Leeds fans will be begging for O’Rourke’s prediction about the Leeds hierarchy’s discussions to come to fruition, with the club now having just a few days to sign another striker.
However, following Rodrigo’s positive start to the season, there may be a chance that Victor Orta believes the club could spend their money on other areas of the team instead, though the striker department does look incredibly threadbare at the moment in terms of quality, even without the injuries.
Therefore, we think that despite the form of the 27-cap Spain international, the club need more options in the striker department in order to stay afloat when injuries and suspensions hit later in the season.
