Phil Hay has admitted that he cannot see Leeds United signing or selling anyone in the remainder of the transfer window.
It has been a busy summer at Leeds thus far, having brought in seven new players and seen 10 players depart, including the very popular duo of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha. But that level of activity hasn’t stopped reports claiming they want more business done before Thursday’s deadline.
Journalist Alan Nixon has claimed that Leeds are looking to push through a deal for Wolves ace Hwang Hee-chan, while they could also see Daniel James depart, with Tottenham Hotspur said to be interested – though it is thought Leeds are unwilling to do a deal.
However, Hay has claimed on the latest episode of The Phil Hay Show that he wouldn’t be shocked if no more business occurs at Leeds this summer.

He said: “From the noises over the weekend, my gut feeling is that we might well go past the window and the deadline without anything else happening, but you never can tell at this stage.
“Because we’ve got Everton [on Tuesday] in what is, I guess quite a big week for Leeds in a competitive sense, Everton at home, Brentford away – I think games they would want to take points from and games that should be helping them to move a little bit further forward in the league, it’d be quite a bad look, I think, to come out of this week with two defeats, say, from those fixtures.
“Perhaps there’s something in the [Everton] game that will make them think, that will make them jump.”
TIF Thoughts on Leeds’ transfer stance…
Some Leeds fans may well be confused by the club’s apparent lack of desire to bring in a new striker given that they were willing to splash out £34m on Charles De Ketelaere, so there does indeed appear to be money lurking about in the club’s coffers.
However, it may well be more a case of Leeds looking to bring in the right player with the right profile that can fit in seamlessly to Jesse Marsch’s system right away instead of bringing in a new player for the sake of it and panic-buying.
Although, bringing in someone to help cover key positions such as striker and left-back – where they are thin on available options – would likely help Marsch cope with the congested fixture schedule ahead of the World Cup.

Radz, Orta and the board at Leeds have followed this pattern every time over every season. If they are genuinely indending to buy they do so. When they have no intention at all to buy they put out messages via their paid croanies to spread media gossip that the club is ‘interested’ in such and such a player. Fans are duped again hoping the board are really interested in Leeds utd football, but as ever the rumours are lies perpetrated by the Leeds owner and board. Radz and his pals are only interested in buying youth and selling for profit. To maximise profits he only needs to keep Leeds in the premiership.
