YouTuber Conor McGilligan has urged Leeds United to replace Mateusz Klich ahead of the upcoming season.
After some recent quotes from manager Jesse Marsch, it seems as though the player’s future could be in doubt as a possible summer exit now looms.
Indeed, the American suggested that he could not be sure if the Pole would still be at Leeds when the window closes on 1st September, saying (via LeedsLive): “I don’t know yet.
“Listen, I really like Mateusz and his mentality has been great. He, understandably, really wants to go to the World Cup.
“All of our guys are trying to figure out how it all fits and it’s an important four or five months for a lot of players. I like having Mateusz here, he’s a great guy and he’s put a lot into this, so we’ll see what happens.”
Offering his own opinion on the player, McGilligan claimed that he felt Klich is now a ‘little bit broken’ and Leeds should go out and ‘replace him’ – though youngster Lewis Bate could be an internal solution to the problem.
When speaking on the One Leeds Fan Channel, he said: “Mateusz Klich is at the end of his tenure at Leeds United, we all know that. We all know that he’s a little bit broken. We all know that he’s always going to be a substitute. He’s going to come on and probably not do that much. So Leeds, in my opinion, yes, they should go out and maybe replace him.
“But maybe then you can blood in someone like Lewis Bate, who then can take up the Mateusz Klich role, who can probably come on and make a difference.”

TIF Thoughts on Mateusz Klich and Leeds…
At 32 years of age, it’s easy to see why some may feel as though Klich’s best years are behind him. Despite that, he has been a regular for Leeds over the past two Premier League seasons, playing over 30 times in each campaign.
Prior to that, he also played over 40 Championship matches in consecutive seasons leading up to the club’s promotion. And so all that football could explain why McGilligan believes the midfielder is now a ‘little bit broken’.
And with manager Marsch unable to put to bed any doubts over the player’s future, it looks like he could even be off this summer.
If that is the case, it will be interesting to see if Leeds opt for someone like Bate – who only has four senior appearances for the Whites – or if they sign someone new with a little more experience to replace the Poland midfielder.
