YouTuber Conor McGilligan has praised Leeds United forward Jack Harrison for his form early on in the new season.

Up to this early stage in the Premier League, the Whites are unbeaten, with a win and a draw from their opening two fixtures.

They overcame Wolves at Elland Road in a 2-1 victory a week ago, before claiming a 2-2 draw on the road away at Southampton on Saturday.

At the heart of this positive start, in the eyes of McGilligan, has been Harrison. Indeed, the winger came in for plenty of praise from the presenter after he put in another ‘fantastic performance’  against the Saints at the weekend.

While speaking on the One Leeds Fan Channel after the game, McGilligan said: “I’ve seen a fantastic performance from Jack Harrison yesterday.

“I think Jack has been superb since the season started, because you guys know on this channel, I’m always talking about Jack Harrison, I’m always saying I think he should be improving this, that and the other.

“I think he’s stepped up since Raphinha’s left, I think he’s been absolutely superb. The Wolves game, I thought he was very good.

“Yesterday, I thought he was phenomenal. Best player on the pitch for Leeds United and I’ll give credit where credit’s due.”

TIF Thoughts on Jack Harrison and Leeds…

Having started the first two games of the Premier League season, Harrison has been able to deliver an assist in each match – a stat no other player has bettered so far, so it’s easy to see why he’s caught the eye.

According to SofaScore, he has also performed well in both matches, picking up a 7.8 rating against Wolves and a 7.5 rating against Southampton. In those matches, beyond his assists, he has also made 3 tackles per game, created 3 big chances and made 5.5 key passes.

On Saturday, he won seven duels and had a passing accuracy of 93%, which may have gone unnoticed to many as Rodrigo will have picked up the plaudits for his two goals.

With former star winger Raphinha now out of the frame having joined Barcelona, as McGilligan mentions, it certainly does seem as though Harrison is stepping up for Leeds.
