Leeds United hold an interest in the potential addition of Neal Maupay this summer as they look to add a new striker to their squad.

This has been suggested by reporter Graeme Bailey, who has been speaking on the latest episode of the Talking Transfers podcast.

The Whites have been busy in this summer’s market with the additions of seven new faces, but Jesse Marsch is yet to see a striker come through the doors at Elland Road.

However, the Yorkshire club may now have no other choice but to bring in a new goalscorer following the latest injury sustained to Patrick Bamford at the weekend against Southampton.

And Bailey believes Victor Orta has an eye on Brighton & Hove Albion’s Maupay ahead of the final two weeks in this summer’s window – though other Premier League sides are also interested.

He said: “Also heard Leeds are looking around that situation, which again, would make sense with them needing a striker. So Neal Maupay is going to have his choice of clubs.”

TIF Thoughts on Bailey’s comments…

Maupay – hailed “fantastic” by Graham Potter – has now been linked with a potential move to a number of Premier League clubs, with the likes of Everton, Fulham and Nottingham Forest said to hold an interest.

Would Maupay be a good signing for Leeds?

We have had our doubts about Maupay’s returns for the Seagulls, as he has 26 Premier League goals across his 102 appearances, though he has also missed 26 big chances in those games (via Premier League).

However, if Bamford is going to have another season riddled with injuries, Maupay’s return of eight goals last season could come as a boost to their chances of survival.
