Leeds United could be in the market for another winger this summer – potentially from the Bundesliga.

That is according to TalkSport reporter Alex Crook, who was speaking to GiveMeSport about the Whites’ remaining transfer business following the Premier League kick-off.

Having welcomed six new signings to the club this season, Jesse Marsch will still be looking to add more depth to his squad for the campaign – and a winger could be on the agenda.

Having already spent plenty of money so far this season, the club still have more scope to spend following the sales of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha for a combined fee of around £100m.

And Crook believes that Leeds have “always been on the lookout” for a winger this summer, claiming that someone who Marsch knows from the Bundesliga could be next on their shopping list.

He said: “They’ve always been on the lookout for another winger, again, I don’t necessarily have an extensive list of names.

“I think my guess would be that it would probably be somebody from the Bundesliga that Jesse Marsch knows from that division, so I think there’s still a possibility of a couple of arrivals.”

TIF Thoughts on Crook’s comments…

We don’t believe it will come as a surprise to Leeds fans that they are looking at potentially signing another winger this summer, with the club only having Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra and Daniel James as their senior options in that position at present.

We also think that it makes sense for ex-RB Leipzig boss Marsch to scour the Bundesliga market this summer, as it is an area that he will have a strong knowledge of – and past relationships may mean he can get a winger in for a reasonable price.

Therefore, we think that it’s highly likely that the club will eventually add another winger to their ranks this summer, though having raided the German top flight multiple times already, whether he returns once again to replenish his squad remains to be seen.
