Presenter and YouTuber Joe Wainman has been left gutted by the latest comments from Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch on what the future may hold for Mateusz Klich.
The Whites concluded their pre-season efforts with a convincing win over Italian side Cagliari at Elland Road, with the Yorkshire club sealing a 6-2 victory.
However, comments after the game have caught the attention of some Leeds fans, with Marsch suggesting the Poland international’s future may now lie elsewhere:
“I don’t know yet,” Marsch said. “Listen, I really like Mateusz and his mentality has been great. He, understandably, really wants to go to the World Cup.
“All of our guys are trying to figure out how it all fits and it’s an important four or five months for a lot of players. I like having Mateusz here, he’s a great guy and he’s put a lot into this, so we’ll see what happens.”
Now five years on from making the move to Elland Road, it is apparent Wainman has his doubts over whether Klich will be a Leeds player come the end of this summer’s window:
“Wounded for Klich; I think it might be the end. One of my favourites of that Bielsa era,” he tweeted.

Not only did Marsch’s comments suggest Klich may not be in his immediate plans, but his actions did too. The 32-year-old did not manage to earn a spot in Marsch’s side on Sunday.

And given the new campaign is now just a matter of days away, this is a strong suggestion that the Polish midfielder is not expected to be in Marsch’s plans for his starting XI.
Despite these comments from Marsch, Klich did play a fair bit of football last season, however, it was apparent his game time became much more inconsistent after the American’s arrival.
So if it is a case of Klich being nothing more than an option from the bench, it would not be a surprise to see Leeds part ways with him ahead of the winter World Cup.
