YouTuber Joe Wainman has claimed that he would love Ivan Toney at Leeds United this summer – but he would be too expensive.
According to The Sun, Leeds are interested in signing Toney this summer as Jesse Marsch is keen on bolstering his attacking options, but the Whites face fierce competition for the striker’s signature.
Toney was impressive last season for Brentford, as he featured 37 times in all competitions for the Bees and netted 14 times, while he also chipped in with six assists, which is what seems to have caught the attention of several top-flight clubs.
Despite Leeds being linked to Toney this summer, Wainman spoke on the JustJoe Football Show and feared that he would be too expensive for the Whites as Brentford would want around £40-50m for him.
He said: “I would love Ivan Toney, but again, it will be too expensive for Leeds.
“Brentford would want £40-50m for him.”

Interestingly, the striker hit out at Leeds last season, which may not give many fans fond memories of him.
Leeds are in serious need of a new striker this summer as they recently lost their top scorer in the Premier League last term in Raphinha, and with Patrick Bamford suffering from heavy injuries last campaign, Marsch might be keen to bring in a more reliable source of goals.
We believe Toney would be a good option for the American boss because he is young and proved last term that he can find the back of the net in the top flight after he chipped in with 17 goal contributions in 33 Premier League games, but the price that he would cost might rule them out of the running – particularly with the likes of mega-rich Newcastle involved.
The English forward has three years remaining on his current contract with Brentford, and with him having such a key involvement for the Bees last season, they may not even be likely to let him go at all, so if Leeds were really that keen on him, they would perhaps have to pay a sky-high fee just as Wainman suggests.
