Image for Everton: Insider reveals reason for Dele Alli’s potential departure

Everton are looking to sell recent signing Dele Alli this summer due to off-the-field issues, it has been claimed.

It looks like Alli’s time at Everton could be short-lived, as the Merseyside club are looking to cut their losses by shipping off the former England international, with Besiktas thought to be leading the way.

While many may think the sale is down to Alli’s poor form on the pitch, noted insider ExWHUemployee has claimed that it is actually down to matters off the field and insists clubs should steer clear until they are resolved.

‘Ex’ said on The Transfer Show: “Dele Alli, bit of a fall from grace for him. Turkish side Besiktas are looking to complete the signing of him. If Everton get rid of him before he plays a certain amount of games, they save themselves a lot of money on fees to Tottenham.

“So, I think Everton want to move Dele Alli on. Turkish club Besiktas leading the way, either on a loan deal or a permanent deal. Now, this is a bit of an exclusive to this site, but I know that Dele Alli, he has a lot of off-the-field issues.

“Unless he sorts those out, his career’s just going to keep dive-bombing.

“I wouldn’t even touch him if I was Besiktas, if I was West Ham, even if I was possibly Leyton Orient at the moment until he gets himself sorted out, really.”

TIF Thoughts on Ex’s comments…

Alli’s downfall has been incredibly surprising considering how the 26-year-old burst onto the scene after he moved from MK Dons to Tottenham Hotspur, and now just seven years on, he looks to be on his way out of the Premier League.

The midfielder’s form on the pitch has dipped in the last few seasons, bagging just three goals and five assists in all competitions in the 2020/21 campaign and then just two goals and one assist in the 2021/22 season for Spurs – a far cry from his haul of 21 goals and 11 assists in 2016/17.

While we hope Alli can overcome his current off-field issues, we can see why Everton would want to sell up if an offer comes in – especially if they will save money in the process from their initial purchase back in January.

Hopefully, this will see a return to form for the ex-Spurs ace in the months and years to come.
