Everton winger Anthony Gordon is expected to be open to a potential move away from Goodison Park in the final weeks of this summer’s window.
This has been suggested by transfer guru Alex Crook, who has been discussing the youngster’s future on TalkSport amid reports of fresh interest.
It has been claimed Chelsea are now showing an interest in the 21-year-old, who has been subject to a reported £40m offer from the west Londoners.
However, Sky Sports has also suggested the Toffees have not received a formal bid for their young talent, but the Blues are seriously interested in potentially bringing him to Stamford Bridge.
Having managed to keep Gordon at Goodison Park up to now, Crook has shared his concerns over the possibility of the winger potentially pushing for an exit.
He said: “I think if Chelsea get nearer the £50m mark, that may be enough to force Everton into action. But certainly, there is strong interest from Chelsea.
“And you have to think, that even though he’s a local lad, that Anthony Gordon would be open to the move to Stamford Bridge, because it’s Champions League football, it’s the chance to go and play under Thomas Tuchel, play alongside the likes of Raheem Sterling. And Everton don’t look in a great place at the moment.”

It is said Everton have no interest in selling Gordon this summer, which is no surprise given they have already sold Richarlison and lost Dominic Calvert-Lewin to injury.
However, Frank Lampard’s side find themselves struggling once again as they already sit fourth-bottom in the Premier League table having lost their opening two games.
With this in mind, it would be understandable if Gordon was willing to cut ties with his boyhood club given the interest from one of the country’s biggest clubs and the opportunity to play Champions League football.
