Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the most likely destination for Che Adams this summer is Everton.

According to The Telegraph, Everton are ready to increase their interest in Adams as he has emerged at the top of their wishlist this summer after a disappointing start to the Premier League season, with two defeats in two games.

In the opening games of the season for Everton, Anthony Gordon has led the line due to the injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and the departure of Richarlison, leaving Salomon Rondon as the only fit striker in their squad.

With Adams being linked with a move to Goodison Park this summer, Romano spoke to GiveMeSport and claimed that Everton are really interested in him and they are the club most likely to sign him this summer.

“For Che Adams, I think the most likely destination is Everton, they are really interested,” Romano said.

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

Adams was an unused substitute on the opening day of the season for Southampton, but he did start their second game when they drew 2-2 against Leeds United, but with him being benched on the opening day, it remains to be seen if this is a sign of things to come and he might want to force a move in search for guaranteed first-team football if that is the case.

However, he could be a good immediate option for Frank Lampard, as the Toffees are particularly short up front, but when Dominic Calvert-Lewin returns to action, the Scottish international might have to settle for second fiddle and fight for his place in the starting XI.

Adams could provide healthy competition for Calvert-Lewin when he does return to full fitness, or they could even accommodate them up front as a pair, with the Southampton man chipping in with a goal contribution every three games last season in the Premier League.
