Sky Sports man, Joe Tomlinson, believes that Everton could win the race for Blackburn star man, Ben Brereton Diaz, this summer as they could offer the player the best wages and package to get the deal done.

After losing star men Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to an unfortunate injury, the Toffees are in desperate need of adding depth to the front line, especially someone who can put the ball in the back of the net.

One player who they have been linked with that ticks this box is Brereton Diaz, who has garnered interest from multiple Premier League outfits. However, much to the delight of Everton fans, Tomlinson believes they could be in the best position to sign him.

Tomlinson said on the Football Daily YouTube channel, “I do believe Brereton Diaz is going to be playing for a Premier League side by the end of the window, I’m just not sure it will be Bournemouth. If Everton come in with the wages and the package, I could see him going there”. (4:29)

TIF Thoughts on Brereton Diaz to Everton…

So far this season Everton are yet to pick up a win have currently sits 16th in the table, with the potential to fall even further before the end of the weekend, with a horrible minus-two goal difference.

They have also only managed to score two goals in their first three matches, one of them coming as an own goal by Aston Villa’s Lucas Digne. It is evident Frank Lampard’s side are calling out for a goalscorer who can carry the load until Calvert-Lewin is back and ready for action.

Brereton Diaz, who has been hailed as ‘terrific’, would be the perfect signing as last season he bagged an incredible 22 goals in the Championship and so far this season has two goals, which would currently top Everton’s goalscoring chart.

It has been reported that Blackburn are looking for a ‘very good amount’ in order to sell their striker, but with the player running out of contract at the end of the season, Everton could propose a cheeky fee towards the end of the window to try and force Blackburn’s hand. We will have to see.
