Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Crystal Palace could turn their attention to Scott McTominay this summer.
According to 90min, interest in McTominay emerged earlier this week amid Casemiro’s impending arrival at Old Trafford.
However, there is plenty of competition among Premier League clubs, with Everton, West Ham United and Leicester City, all interested in his services.
Palace have been heavily linked with Leicester’s Boubakary Soumare this summer, but whilst speaking with GiveMeSport, Jones claimed that if they can’t land the Foxes man, the south Londoners could join the race for the Scotland international.
He said: “Soumare has a lot of interest from French clubs too, most looking at a loan. Palace might yet be another club that look at McTominay if they can’t get someone like Soumare.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…
With Palace losing Conor Gallagher, who returned to parent club Chelsea in the summer after spending last season on loan with the Eagles, Patrick Vieira might be keen to bring another midfielder in an attempt to deal with life without the England international.
McTominay, who is claimed to be a statistically similar player to Declan Rice (according to database FBref), could be open to a move this summer if Casemiro threatens his playing time at Old Trafford, which could give Palace a boost in terms of their chances of being able to lure him away from Manchester United, even though he has three years remaining on his current contract.
However, there are several other Premier League clubs who are interested in McTominay this summer, and with Vieira already adding Cheick Doucoure to his squad, he might not be willing to splash the cash on another holding midfielder when he could use the funds to improve another area of the pitch.
