Dan Cook has lauded the performance of Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze while speaking on the HLTCO podcast.

Someone who has been influential so far this season is Eze, who will be delighted with his start to the campaign with one assist and three starts under his belt after only managing to make the starting lineup in the league six times in the whole of last season having returned from a long-term injury.

Crystal Palace have started the season very well under Patrick Vieira, picking up points against both Liverpool and Aston Villa, while they put in a very impressive display against Arsenal, the only team to still have a 100% record this season.

Cook was delighted with how Eze performed against Villa on Saturday and was full of praise for many aspects of his game.

Are you surprised by Eze's performances?

No!

He said: “Ebere Eze in the middle of the park was just sublime. I reeled off numerous statistics on Twitter on Saturday evening in relation to his performance – I believe he completed the most tackles, he completed the most dribbles, he had the best pass completion, he won the most duels. He was absolutely everywhere on that pitch.”

TIF Thoughts on Eze…

It was a tough campaign last time out for Eze, who was injured when Vieira arrived at Selhurst Park and it was difficult for him to force his way into the Frenchman’s plans, however, with a full pre-season under his belt, he appears to have won the manager over.

Think you're the biggest Crystal Palace fan? Then who is the club's record signing?

Eze is leading the way in terms of goal-creating actions and is also only behind Wilfried Zaha in terms of shot-creating actions and carries into the final third, such is his growing influence on this young and exciting Palace side.

That he was singled out for praise by Cook despite Wilfried Zaha bagging a brace at the weekend only goes to show how Eze is making people take notice of his performances, and Eagles supporters will undoubtedly be hoping this is a sign for things to come for Palace this season.
