Crystal Palace target Conor Gallagher could still request to move if not satisfied with his current role between now and the end of the month, according to reporter Graeme Bailey.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign in SE25 last season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in 34 Premier League appearances.

His form saw him earn a senior international call-up and the Epsom-born midfielder has gone on to earn four caps.

With it being a World Cup year, he may fancy himself for a seat on the plane, but at his current employers Chelsea, game time may be restricted.

He was a late substitute in the side’s 1-0 win over Everton on Saturday, and Bailey feels that if his minutes continue to be limited, he may look to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Speaking on the Talking Transfers podcast when asked if it looks like Chelsea will let the midfielder leave, he said: “It doesn’t appear so.

“West Ham, Newcastle, Palace – they’re all basically keeping in touch with Chelsea saying, ‘look, what’s the situation with Conor Gallagher, please keep us informed’, as any good club would do – if he becomes available, you want to know about it.

“That’s where it stands. At the moment, Chelsea have said no, he’s not leaving.

“He started on the bench on [Saturday]. This is the thing with this window that we’ve discussed – if Gallagher doesn’t start a game from now until the end of the month, he may agitate for a move.”

TIF Thoughts on Gallagher and Palace…

Can Eze replace Gallagher?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Having excelled at Selhurst Park last year, it is unlikely that any Eagles supporter would turn their nose up at the idea of Gallagher returning to the club.

With bundles of energy and an eye for goal, the £22.5m-rated ace would bring another dimension to Patrick Vieira’s midfield, and with summer arrival Cheick Doucoure doing the groundwork, Gallagher could perhaps thrive even more, so it will be interesting to see how this situation develops in the next couple of weeks.

But with plenty of potential suitors for his signature, it seems Palace will have to be ready to pounce quickly should Gallagher become available – though you would think that his fruitful loan spell last term will work in the Eagles’ favour.
