Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Antoine Semenyo is someone that Crystal Palace are looking to pursue this summer.

According to The Guardian, Crystal Palace are one of the clubs interested in luring Semenyo to the Premier League as Patrick Vieira looks to bolster his attacking options.

Semenyo was in fine form last season for Bristol City before he picked up an injury, featuring 31 times in the Championship where he contributed 20 goal involvements, but his injury meant that he has had to miss the opening stages of the 2022/23 season.

With Palace showing interest in Semenyo, Jones spoke to GiveMeSport and claimed that he would not be surprised if they made an offer for him soon.

He said: “They’re looking at Semenyo as well from Bristol City and that’s one that they’re looking to pursue again, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they made an offer. So yeah, some really interesting stuff.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

Vieira might be keen to bring in another attacker to the Palace squad this summer after Christian Benteke left the club to join MLS side D.C. United, and with them also being without last season’s second-highest goalscorer, Conor Gallagher, the Frenchman might be keen to force a deal for Semenyo over the line.

The 22-year-old attacker has under 12 months remaining on his current contract with Bristol City, so if the Championship side are unable to tie him down to a new deal, they might be keen to cash in on him so that he won’t leave next summer on a free transfer.

Palace have a clear youthful approach, as the oldest outfield player they have brought into the club this summer is 22-year-old Cheick Doucoure, so a move to Selhurst Park for Semenyo – who is a day older than the Malian – would certainly make sense.
