Crystal Palace’s potential loan move for right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a deal that “could suit everybody.”
That is according to journalist Pete O’Rourke, who was speaking to This is Futbol about the Eagles’ potential transfer business, heading into the final weeks of the window.
According to Sky Sports, Patrick Vieira’s side are interested in a loan move for Wan-Bissaka, who left the Eagles for Manchester United in a deal worth £50m back in the summer of 2019.
The same report suggests that the Red Devils are “open minded” about the 24-year-old’s short-term future, but would also be satisfied if he was still their player come the end of the transfer window.
And O’Rourke believes that a loan move to Selhurst Park is a deal that would make sense for all parties this summer.
“Wan-Bissaka made his name at Crystal Palace before his move to Manchester United.
“It’s a deal that looks on paper could suit everybody.
“Wan-Bissaka goes back to his old club, Palace get a good player, and Manchester United see somebody from their fringes going and playing regularly.”
TIF Thoughts on O’Rourke’s comments
We agree with O’Rourke’s comments, and believe that a loan move may be just what Wan-Bissaka needs, with the full-back likely to be behind Diogo Dalot in the pecking order at right-back for Erik ten Hag’s side in the early stages of this season.
The three-time England U21 international arguably enjoyed the best days of his career to date during his time at Selhurst Park, making 46 appearances for the Eagles and providing four assists in that time, according to Transfermarkt.
Therefore, based on all factors between all parties, we believe that it would be in the best interests of both Palace and Manchester United to get this deal over the line before the transfer window is out.
