Dan Cook has claimed that Crystal Palace will not be looking to bring Aaron Wan-Bissaka back to the club in this summer transfer window.
Earlier in the transfer window, 90min reported that Crystal Palace were the favourites to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka on loan for the 2022/23 season after the English right-back left the club in 2019 to join Manchester United.
Wan-Bissaka was out of favour last season for United, he made just 20 appearances in the Premier League and added just six more in cup competitions.
Despite being the reported favourites to sign Wan-Bissaka this summer, Cook spoke on the HLTCO podcast and claimed that he does not believe that they will be signing the right-back this summer.
(6:52) “I think it’s a pretty fair assumption that we will not be looking to bring Aaron Wan Bissaka back to the football club this summer, purely I suppose not only do we have that depth, but the amount of money that it will take to bring Aaron back to Se25,” Cook said.

TIF Thoughts on Cook’s comments…
Wan-Bissaka might have been keen on a move away from Manchester United after he played a sporadic role last season, so he could have wanted a move elsewhere perhaps on loan to get regular game time, but there has been no movement on proceedings so far.
United bought him for £50m and he still has two years remaining on his current deal, so if Palace were to buy him then it would likely have cost them a significant fee, which his game time rewarded in recent times might not justify.
Nathan Ferguson can play anywhere across the back-four, and he was brought to Palace to act as cover at right-back for Joel Ward, so they already have the necessary cover in that area of the pitch and it could be deemed as no need to bring in another player.
