Journalist Tom Barclay has claimed that Ismaila Sarr would be a fantastic signing for Crystal Palace this summer.
According to the Evening Standard, Crystal Palace are keen on luring Ismaila Sarr back to the Premier League this summer, after he got relegated with Watford last season.
Sarr had a frustrating season last term with Watford, he suffered from injuries that led him to have to watch from the sidelines for large periods, meaning that he could only feature 22 times in the Premier League and contribute with five goals and two assists.
With Palace now tracking the progress of Sarr, Barclay spoke to GiveMeSport and claimed that he is a ‘next-level player’ and would be a fantastic signing for them.
“He’d be a fantastic signing for Palace.
“Obviously, Michael Olise has just come back from injury, but when he’s not playing, Jordan Ayew is an underrated player and a very dependable player, but I think Ismaila Sarr is a next-level player.
“The idea of him and Zaha and Olise with Eze in behind them is very, very exciting. So, if Palace can pull that one off, there’ll be looking even better than they were before,” Barclay said.
TIF Thoughts on Barclay’s comments…
With the current firepower at Palace of Eberechi Eze, Wilfried Zaha, and Michael Olise, Sarr could be the missing piece to form a fierce quartet, and Patrick Vieira might have seen his impressive stats in the 2020/21 Championship campaign, when he had 23 goal contributions in 39 games, and think that he could add something that his current squad is missing.
Do you think Palace will sign Sarr?YesNo |
Sarr – hailed a “freak” by Ben Foster (via HertsLive) – has two years remaining on his current deal with Watford, which could play into Palace’s hands because the Championship side might be keen to cash in on him while they can, rather than letting him go at a reduced price at the end of the season, or even on a free transfer the following summer.
