Journalist Dean Jones has been speaking on The Done Deal Show about how Wilfried Zaha ticks a lot of boxes for Arsenal.
With the Gunners said to be keen on landing a new winger amid talk of club-record signing Nicolas Pepe nearing a move back to Ligue 1 with Nice, Zaha is said to tick a lot of boxes when it comes to the type of signing Arsenal and Mikel Arteta want to make in that area.
Jones has admitted that Arsenal have taken a look at the Ivorian this summer and could yet formally reignite their interest.
He said: “In the background there’s Wilfried Zaha, for example. That deal is not moving forward at the moment, but Zaha is definitely one of those players that ticks those boxes and that Arsenal have had an eye on.
“So we’ll have to wait to see whether they decide to go down that path – Wilfried Zaha obviously in red-hot form at the moment, having a good start to the season.”

TIF Thoughts on Arsenal’s interest in Zaha…
The Gunners have thus far been linked with moves for Yeremy Pino and Pedro Neto, with the former untested in the Premier League and still very young, while the latter has never been prolific in England and would reportedly cost £50m.
Therefore, a move for Zaha, who is seemingly only getting better in front of goal judging by his numbers over the last two seasons and how he’s started this campaign, would surely be the best one for Arteta and Arsenal to make.
Zaha is currently into the final 12 months of his contract, so would likely not cost as much as either Neto at £50m, or Pino at a rumoured £42m, however, he is significantly older, so may not be able to perform at the top level for many more years.
